The 9th Digital Twin and Smart Manufacturing Services Conference was successfully held from June 27 to 29, 2025, in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. The conference was hosted by Southwest Jiaotong University and brought together nearly 1,000 experts and scholars from more than 100 universities, research institutes, and enterprises.

Professor Yan Xuedong, President of Southwest Jiaotong University, delivered the welcome address. Conference Chair Professor Wanming Zhai, Chief Professor at Southwest Jiaotong University, Director of the School of Transportation Engineering, and Chair of the University Academic Committee, delivered a keynote speech.

The conference featured eight keynote speeches and 12 parallel sessions, with more than 100 presentations covering Digital Twin and Smart Design, Smart Manufacturing, Smart Operation and Maintenance, Human-Centric Smart Manufacturing, Transportation Systems, Infrastructure, Energy Systems, Intelligent Robotics, Foundation Models for Industry, Industrial Software, Industrial Applications, and Experiment, Testing and Validation.

The conference was held under the guidance of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and co-hosted by Southwest Jiaotong University, the National Key Laboratory for Digital Sensitivity Design of Aircraft, and the international journal Digital Twin. The organizing institutions included the College of Mechanical Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University; National Key Laboratory of Rail Transit Vehicle Systems; College of Geosciences and Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University; and AVIC Agile Laboratory, Chengdu.

The conference provided a platform for experts and industry leaders to exchange ideas and explore new developments and applications in digital twin and smart manufacturing.
