From June 27 to July 29, 2025, the 9th Academic Conference on Digital Twin and Smart Manufacturing Services was successfully held in Chengdu, Sichuan. Professor Yan Xuedong, President of Southwest Jiaotong University, delivered the welcome address. The conference chair, Professor Zhai Wanming, Chief Professor at Southwest Jiaotong University, Director of the School of Transportation Engineering, and Chair of the University Academic Committee, delivered a keynote speech.

The conference also featured eight other distinguished speakers, including Professor Tan Jianrong, Director of the Department of Design Engineering and Automation at Zhejiang University and Qiushi Distinguished Professor; Professor Wang Zili, Director of the National Key Laboratory of Reliability and Environmental Engineering at Beihang University; Professor Sun Linfu, Chief Professor at Southwest Jiaotong University and Leading Expert of the National Key R&D Program on Industrial Software; Professor Chen Xin, former President of Guangdong University of Technology and Director of the National Innovation Center for Technology in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; Professor Hu Changhua from the Rocket Force University of Engineering; Professor Hua Lin from Wuhan University of Technology; Professor Tao Fei, Dean of the International institute for Interdisciplinary and frontiers at Beihang University; and Li Jiajun, Deputy Chief Designer at AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Design Institute.

The conference attracted nearly a thousand attendees from over a hundred universities, research institutes, and enterprises worldwide. Notable attendees included Professor Yang Jianwei, Vice President of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture; Professor Xiao Qian, Vice President of East China Jiaotong University; Professor Hu Guangzhong, Vice President of Sichuan University of Science & Engineering; as well as representatives from the organizing institutions.

The conference was held under the guidance of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and co-hosted by Southwest Jiaotong University, the National Key Laboratory for Digital Sensitivity Design of Aircraft, and the international journal Digital Twin. The organizing institutions included:

· College of Geosciences and Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University

· AVIC Agile Laboratory, Chengdu

Professor Zhai Wanming served as the Conference Chair. Professors Qian Linmao and Ding Guofu served as Executive Chairs. Vice Chairs included Wang Kaiyun, Liu Guoxiang, Zhu Qing, Li Jiajun, Pu Wei, Liu Yu, Zhu Xiaohua, Han Chuanjun, and Hu Guangzhong. Program Committee Chairs included Zhang Jian, Zhu Jun, Zhu Tao, Huang Deqing, Li Rong, Zou Yisheng, Wang Shuying, Liu Jian, Li Haiqing, Wang Guorong, Yu Jiaxin, Pei Xuan, Li Guoqiang, and Liu Zhongbin. Zhang Haizhu served as the Secretary-General of the conference.
