Biography
Prof. Dr. Dr. Dieter Budde is an honorary professor at UniBw Munich and a retired major general. He holds a degree in political science, a master's degree in governance, and a master's degree in philosophy. He also holds doctorates in political and social sciences, and in philosophy. He teaches in the departments of computer science, aeronautical engineering, and business administration. His research and teaching focus on leadership, management, strategy, decision theory, hybrid warfare, cyber, AI, resilience, critical infrastructure, aviation, and ethics.
Title: Digital Twin – Resilience – Ethics
The presentation will cover the essential aspects of digital twins, resilience, ethics, and morality. The presentation will first discuss the conditions for action and the development and application of digital twins. To this end, the prerequisites of different forms of government and economic systems will be outlined. It will then examine the fundamentals, risks, artificial intelligence, and elements of strengthening resilience. The analysis and evaluation of resilience will be presented using the example of technical resilience. The philosophical and faith-based foundations of ethics and morals are discussed, with reference to different cultures. Furthermore, reference is made to the responsibility involved in the development and application of digital twins. It is concluded that the design of digital twins in accordance with human values and norms is an indispensable prerequisite for contributing to progress that can be described as fair, safe, and sustainable.
