Digital Twin Adoption and Value Realisation
Aims & Scope
This special session focuses on the adoption, governance, and value realisation of Digital Twins in industrial contexts. It aims to bring together research and industrial insights that examine how Digital Twins can deliver measurable value and become embedded in organisational practices. Contributions may address conceptual frameworks, empirical studies, methodological approaches, and industrial case studies that explore the organisational and strategic dimensions of Digital Twin deployment.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Business case development, value assessment, and methods for quantifying benefits, costs, and return on investment for Digital Twin initiatives
• Organisational capabilities, stakeholder alignment, governance models, and management structures for Digital Twin adoption
• Lifecycle management, performance measurement, and strategies for transitioning from pilot projects to large scale deployment
• Integration of Digital Twins into operational decision-making processes, including human interaction, user acceptance, and cross functional collaboration
• Ecosystem creation and inter-organisational information sharing relying on Digital Twins
• Reference implementations of Digital Twin standards
• Building trust through Verification, Validation, and Uncertainty Quantification (VVUQ)
• Lessons learned from industrial implementations and case studies
