Digital Twins for Additive Manufacturing and Smart Production

Aims & Scope

This session aims to explore the integration of Digital Twin (DT) technologies with additive manufacturing (AM) to enable intelligent, data-driven, and adaptive production systems. DTs provide real-time synchronization between physical processes and virtual models, enabling enhanced monitoring, optimization, and predictive control across the AM lifecycle. It will bring together researchers and industry experts to discuss advances in modeling, simulation, AI integration, and real-time data analytics for AM processes. Emphasis will be placed on bridging design, process, and performance through digital twins to achieve improved quality, reliability, and sustainability.


The session topics include but are not limited to:

  • • DT frameworks for AM processes  

  • • AI-driven monitoring, control, and optimization in AM

  • • Multi-scale modeling, simulation, and real-time data integration  

  • • Applications in smart manufacturing, certification, and lifecycle management
