The International Digital Engineering Association (IDEA) envisions a globally interconnected ecosystem where digital engineering drives innovation, sustainability, and efficiency across industries.
Our mission is to establish standardized frameworks, foster multidisciplinary collaboration, and advance cutting-edge technologies that enable seamless integration of digital tools across engineering lifecycles—from design and simulation to operation and optimization.

As a core component of the five-dimensional digital twin model, Cyber-Physical Integration acts as the "blood vessels and nervous system" of the digital twin. It transports twin data to physical entities, virtual models, and application services, interlinking all components of the digital twin to function collaboratively. So, how is this cyber-physical integration actually achieved? In this session, we will explore the principles and mechanisms behind digital twin connectivity and interaction, introduce the "Perception–Communication–Mapping–Interaction–Integration" theoretical framework for cyber-physical integration, and examine how digital twins evolve from basic connectivity to full integration step by step.
